2015-2016 School Improvement Goals

 

Aspirational Goal 1: All students will read at or above grade level by 3rd grade and continue to read at or above grade level thereafter.

Measurable Objectives for Goal 1

Measurable Objectives should include both current and target performance levels

 

  1. In 2014-2015 school year, 81.6% of twelfth-grade students met or exceeded the 1185 Lexile target.  In the 2015-2016 school year, at least 83% of twelfth-grade students will meet or exceed the 1185 Lexile target.

  2. In 2014-2015 school year, 85.5% of students in grades 9 -12 met the grade-level Lexile target or met the growth target.  In the 2015-2016 school year, 87% of students in grades 9-12 will meet the grade-level Lexile target or meet the growth target.

  3. In 2014-2015, 34.1% of SWD students met or exceeded the grade-level or growth Lexile targets; in 2015-2016 the percentage, will improve or maintain, of SWD students who meet or exceed the grade-level Lexile target or growth target.

 

Aspirational Goal 2: All students will meet grade-level and course-specific curriculum standards each year and complete an established educational and/or career pathway by graduation.

 

Measurable Objectives for Goal 2

Measurable Objectives should include both current and target performance levels

 

  1. In 2014-2015, 94% of all students passed all their core classes (SS, English, Math, and Science) with a grade of 60% or higher; in 2015-2016 > or = to 94% of students will pass all core classes.

  2. In 2014-2015, 96% of SWD students passed all their core classes with a grade of 60% or higher; in 2015-2016 > or = to 96% of SWD students will pass all core classes.

  3. In 2014-2015, 55.4% of AP exams scored a 3 or higher. In 2015-2016, 63% or higher of AP exams will score 3 or higher.

  4. In 2014-2015, 23% of seniors graduated with dual completer status. In 2015-2016, 25% of seniors will graduate with dual completer status.


 

Aspirational Goal 3: All students will be provided quality instruction using appropriate technology

Measurable Objectives for Goal 3

Measurable Objectives should include both current and target performance levels

 

  1. In 2014-2015, fewer than 10 teachers were proficient in Google Drive for classroom instruction; in 2015-2016, all teachers will be trained in Google Drive and and the number of Google Drive proficient teachers will increase.

  2. At the beginning of 2015-2016, approximately 1 out of 5 teachers were using appropriate technology for quality instructional delivery as observed during informal walk-throughs; at the end of 2015-2016, 90% of our teachers will be observed using appropriate technology for instruction.

  3. In 2014-2015, all school-wide technology PD was provided by the lead teacher; in 2015-2016, at least one person from each department will present at least one Tech Tidbit Professional Development session for staff.

 

Aspirational Goal 4: All students will be healthy, informed and productive citizens.

Measurable Objectives for Goal 4

Measurable Objectives should include both current and target performance levels

 

  1. Boonsboro High School will achieve 12 points through the HEAL (Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles Pilot Program for the 2015-2016 school year.

  2. In 2014-2015, 88% of students met the Good Standing (PBIS) recognition standards; in 2015-2016, 90% of students will meet the Good Standing recognition standards.

  3. In 2014-2015, 27 of 37 (73%) OSS students were FARM students; in 2015-2016, the number of OSS FARM students will decrease by 25%.
